BECOME A MEMBER

Why Become A Member of Refugee Women's Centre?

By becoming a member of the Women's Centre, you are committing to defending our values and upholding our safeguarding practices. Membership is open to everyone, and mandatory for volunteers coming on the ground. Each member is a strength of the organisation, and is contributing to us being able to:

  • Provide those living in the informal camps in Calais and Grande-Synthe the resources to live independently and with dignity.

  • Continue advocating for the recognition of rights of people who have migrated from their homes and are not provided with the means to live safe and healthy lives.

  • Continue to work towards sustainable solutions to the situation on the France-UK border, including access to shelter, safety and protection for everyone, regardless of their immigration status.

  • Promote the wellbeing of those we work with, and take an active role in safeguarding the community.

  • Create a culture of support, compassion and understanding within the team, the community and with our partners.

  • Value the strength in diversity, embracing everyone's experience and building community.

Members will be invited to our AGM and their voices and opinions will be integrated into our work. The membership is €10 for the year, with the option to renew. This will cover insurance for volunteer activities on the ground.
